Welcome to our REBORN Childbirth Conversations Blog!
When pregnant with our fourth child, God opened my (Emmie’s) eyes to the division among His people with regard to decisions in pregnancy and childbirth. With this God gave me a vision of hosting times for women to come together in a safe place to openly discuss options, opinions and decisions and ask questions from those who had gone before, without fear of judgement. My background as a labor and delivery nurse as well as having 9 children has really helped me in combining the medical and natural to provide balanced information with facts and experience. Thus Childbirth Conversations was born. I hosted my first conversational class in the Fall of 2013 and began my original blog in January of 2014.
The original purpose of Childbirth Conversations was to be a resource and a place for open dialogue for women about pregnancy and childbirth. Since then our vision of Childbirth Conversations has grown into becoming a joint effort to not only educate women, but their husbands as well in those things that are useful for them in aiding and supporting their wives during this special time. While the primary purpose is for women, there will be posts and resources for men in our “Dads” section by Jim and occasionally Emmie.
Our primary goals for the blog are to share information, birth stories, resources and to open up dialogue and questions to help women be better prepared for their pregnancies, births, and transition afterward. We will cover all areas of preparation including physical, spiritual, mental and emotional preparation for this amazing event. Childbirth is a gift from the Lord and we need to be prepared for what He is going to do in it. We will also cover information for pre-pregnancy, healthy living, and what husbands need to know to prepare and help their wives.
Please feel free to ask questions, give answers, comment and recommend resources. We do ask that you be sensitive to others and be gracious in your responses. If we feel anything is being handled inappropriately or aggressively we will delete it from the blog. This blog is for anyone, but we are Christians and we will be handling this blog, to the best of our ability, in a Christian manner and ask that you please respect that. If you have any questions as to what is appropriate please ask. Thank you for your input and helping others.
